Usher Study Group

Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 September 2010

The 13th Usher Study Group will take place just before the Acquired Deafblindness Network conference, which will also be based at the Hotel Hvide Hus.  It starts at 12 noon on Monday 27 September with a Danish buffet and finishes by 5 p.m. on Tuesday 28 September.

We have an exciting programme which covers medical and psychiatric issues, communication, living with Usher, Usher families, and talks from Usher people themselves.  There will also be plenty of opportunities to socialise, including a meal together at the Hotel Hvide Hus on the Monday evening.

We have two well-known and respected speakers from the medical field, Professor Bill Kimberling from Boys Town National Research Hospital, Omaha, USA and Professor Claes Möller from the Swedish Institute for Disability Research, Orebro, Sweden.

We have a mixture of plenaries and workshops and a variety of topics.  The Usher Study Group is therefore of interest to professionals, Usher people and their friends and families; in fact, anyone who is interested in Usher syndrome.
